Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager in Australia to establish and maintain connections with local suppliers, oversee logistics and customs clearance, and ensure the smooth execution of our sales orders in Australia. This independent contributor role involves a variety of responsibilities and requires strong knowledge of the data center industry, as well as expertise in logistics, procurement, and sales operations.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to align with company goals, focusing on cost, quality, and supplier performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors, ensuring reliable supply chains and effective negotiation of terms.
  • Should have thorough knowledge about local customs clearance rules and regulations, local taxes & duties.
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure processes are streamlined and efficient. Implement best practices to enhance productivity and operational workflows.
  • Manage budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for cost savings related to procurement and operations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Extensive experience in procurement, including strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
    • Should have strong and hands-on experience in customs clearance coordination, documents review and checklist approvals.
    • Managing the local inventory and planning local deliveries.
    • Proven track record in managing and optimizing operational processes in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong ability to manage budgets, control costs, and implement cost-saving measures.
    • In-depth understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements related to procurement and operations.
    • Skilled in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing and developing teams.
    • Proficiency in analyzing data and metrics to drive strategic decisions and improvements.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing challenges and finding solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field (bachelor’s degree preferred).
